FREQUENCY RESPONSE COMPARISION: With Baffles.

Two sections appear below. The first is an overlayed plot of the frequency responses of the baffled drivers; and, the second are the individual plots of the impulse and frequency responses of the drivers.

The deep notches seen in the frequency responses for both the unbaffled Carver and BG drivers are affected by the baffling. Compared to the unbaffled drivers, the Carver driver, in addition to the notch at ~2700-2800Hz has acquired another notch at ~3200-3300Hz. Vestiges of the ~3600-3700Hz notch in the BG driver can be seen, but it is no longer the abyss seen with the unbaffled driver. The BG acquires a new notch at about 850Hz.

The overlayed plot below contains the 1/12 octave smoothed frequency response plots of the baffled drivers. It also contains the frequency response of the BG driver with it's notch filter in use.

Both drivers are seen to have large amplitude cavity resonances occurring through the range 3500 - 10000Hz. Use of the notch filter with the RD75 driver is seen to produce large effects upon the frequency response of the driver. The changes in the low-frequency response of the RD75 with notch filter installed were/are unexpected. Particular attention is directed to the impulse response of the BG driver using the notch filter. Note the square top of that impulse. Dramatic display of the meaning of this is shown in the impulse section comparisons.

Below are shown the impulse responses of the drivers and the FFT derived frequency responses. These responses are UNSMOOTHED and are exceptionally clean! The complete data set of the impulse response from which the frequency response is derived is also shown. Note the complete lack of reflections in the data.
