COMPARISION: Floor Damping Effects.
Significant smoothing of the frequency response of the '3&SQ' baffle is
obtained, in the range 900Hz to 5000Hz, with floor damping. Shown above are
three levels of damping of the hardwood floor between the lower baffle edge
and the microphone - approximately 80" in distance. Smaller pieces of
the 1" foam, doubled over, about 2' square in front of the baffles produces
significant improvement in the sound from the '3&SQ' baffle (on a hard floor).

Microphone at 2 meters distance and a height of 1 meter.
