Our sometimes collegue and sometimes mentor, Rudi Blondia, at the test rack
with a Carver 60" planar driver installed. After-the-fact we discovered
that the mounting technique for the drivers, in the rack, created a cavity
behind the driver. This made for some frequency response problems in
certain areas of the spectrum.
This is a shot of the 14.5" wide baffle used for much of the testing that
day on the RD75s.
This was the really 'big baffle' of the day, the 62" wide baffle. Since
that time Rudi has explored the effects of baffles exceeding 100" in width.
