The Plan 'A' Ribbon Cutter

The 'Ofla' brand rotary knife blades. 0.3mm thick. Thanks Leif Aden!

The dual-cutter concept in fabrication. This assembly has been abandoned for the moment, and a separate single blade assembly created. Sorry no photos of that yet. Conceptually, this is the way to go, but using hardware store materials doesn't provide the precision required. Got to locate a machinist to get a more precise cutter machined.

Front view of cutter with blade carriers shown. A slight wobble exists in the blade carriers - which would obviously result in a ribbon varying in width.

Side view of cutter.

As noted above, the Plan 'B' cutter assembly has already been fabricated and will be used for the first set of ribbons to be cut. It would be much better to be able to cut a complete ribbon in one pass, but this implementation just isn't precise enough.
