These photos are current as of January 23, 1999. The 'micrometer' straight edge is complete. The Plan 'B' ribbon cutter is fabricated. The pole pieces have received their final razor smoothing prior to the gluing of the magnets.
Ribbon cutting has started. The next phase is to fit the pole pieces to
the ribbons, with the major theoretical and practical problem being the
choice of and capability to achieve a very narrow pole-to-ribbon gap.
