Amplifier modules:
The following mono amplifiers are not specifically designed for subwoofer use. Amplifier RMS power ratings and specific features are noted. All are open frame designs which will require some sort of case. Listed alphabetically by manufacturer.

Summarizing the recommendations I've received, the LC Audio and AKSA are the most highly recommended. The AKSA (Aspen KitSet Amplifier) is reported to sound very "tube/valve like", while the LC modules represent some of the best solid state designs available. The BK modules are outstanding values, offering excellent specs for less money than most others. All of Marchand's and Seal's products have also been recommended.
