Vendor guidelines - E.J. Jordan:

E.J. Jordan is a highly regarded British manufacturer of both full-range and wide-range drivers using metal cone conventional technology. The following wide-range drivers have been recommended. For more details on their full-range drivers, see the Jordan listing in Section 3 on wide/full-range drivers.

  1. The JX53 tweeter is "only" good up to around 18 kHz, but extends down to 300 Hz. At first glance, it appears to be one of only two tweeters whose low Fs and high Xmax make it truly suitable for a first-order electrical crossover (the other is the Accuton C2-23) in a two-way system. Upon closer examination of the specs, you will find that it's primarily of use in line arrays because of its low sensitivity. Used individually, JX53's require enough power to play at realistic levels to cause them to burn up in a hurry. See further information on the JX53 in Section 3 as well as the similar Bandor 50 models.  face view   angle view   response   impedance   phase   waterfall
  2. The JX62 is one of the few credible mid/tweeters on the market, also available shielded as the JX62S.For more details, see the Jordan listing in Section 3
  3. The JX92S is an excellent candidate for an extremely wide-range midrange driver, but is also useful as a midrange or small mid/bass driver. For more details, see the Jordan listing in Section 3
  4. The JX125 is an exceptional metal cone 6.5" mid/bass with good response from ~25 Hz in a vented box (~45 Hz in a sealed box) to 3 kHz. Although it can't quite match the low distortion figures of the Seas and Seas Excel metal cone 6.5" drivers, it's easier to work with, due to better FR, and fewer problems in the upper stopband.  top view   side view   response   phase   waterfall   impedance
  5. The JX150 is an exceptional metal cone 8" mid/bass with good response from ~25 Hz in a vented box (~45 Hz in a sealed box) to 6 kHz. The JX150 is unique among drivers in using a rear-mounted flat metal spring rather than a conventional spider. This spring is coupled to the cone via a short rod. The claimed advantage is that the force of the spring can remain linear through a much larger range of motion than even the best spiders. Although it can't quite match the low distortion figures of the Seas and Seas Excel metal cone 8" drivers, it's easier to work with, due to better FR, and fewer problems in the upper stopband.  top view   side view   response   phase   waterfall   impedance
